April 4 -- Marvin Manassa, Director of the Surplus Property Program was selected Area 1 Vice President of the National Association of State Agencies for Surplus Property (NASASP). NASASP is one of the leading organizations in the surplus property industry. The organization’s goal is to improve the distribution of federal property and to increase communication between its member states and the legislature. In the Area 1 Vice President role, Mr. Manassa is responsible for advising state agency directors on federal and national principles regarding surplus property. Area I includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia as well as the District of Columbia.
Marvin will bring to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience earned in his over 20 year career and specifically his four year tenure as OCP’s Surplus Property Director. Since taking over the division in 2010, Mr. Manassa and his team have expanded the District’s Surplus Property inventory and sales exponentially.
